Backend Software Developer

Berlin

We are looking for a Backend Developer, to join our team in Berlin to work on a (Play Framework based) web application server and future backend design / implementation to manage and monitor remotely deployed IoT sensors and network devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Write well designed, efficient code using best software development practices.

  • Ensure the delivery of reliable and secure software with a strong focus on continuous testing and adherence to web security standards.

  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

  • Take ownership of the backend services in terms of new features, maintenance, and performance.

  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities

  • Constant collaboration and communication with other developers / colleagues to ensure delivery of expected milestones.

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Expertise and hands on experience with web application server development, in particular software development in Scala / Java, SQl Db Integration, Authentication / Authorization, API Specification, JSON Encoding / Decoding, etc.

  • Familiarity with the Play Framework or similar (Spring, Wildfly, etc).

  • The preferred language of choice is Scala, but experience in Java with a curiosity and willingness to pick up on Scala would also be considered.

  • Strong focus on testing with code coverage via unit and integration tests (BDD)

  • Good understanding of how web application servers and other backend services  work including security, api, database management and best development practices.

  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced agile environment, learn rapidly and master diverse backend technologies and techniques.

  • Ability to produce well-written technical documentation.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and understand technical requirements.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with other  programming languages (Python, Go).

  • Familiarity with Docker containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes).

We are looking for a QA and Support Engineer to join our team in Berlin to take responsibility for our product quality and support customers with deployments of our products.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish standard test procedures and perform manual testing of our products  (devices, web platform) during various stages of the development cycle.

  • Create automated tests to identify software and hardware problems.

  • Analyze bugs and errors found during tests.

  • Document results of tests for the software and hardware development teams.

Technical Presales Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Presales Engineer, to join our team in Berlin to take responsibility for our technical sales process and support the sales team.


Responsibilities:

  • Working on deals assigned to the sales team to ensure a deal’s “technical close”.

  • Presentation of Dryad’s products and services to potential customers and reseller partners in online and offline meetings and on trade-shows

  • Providing the technical knowledge back-up for the sales team in customer interactions.

  • Coordinating with the technical team with regards to customization and integration requirements.

  • Answering RFP/RFQs and technical questions of potential customers in close collaboration with our international reseller partners.

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum three years of sales or sales engineering experience in a business-to-business, strategic customer segment or

Embedded SW Engineer - Sensor

We are looking for an Embedded Software Developer, to join our team in Berlin to work on development of ultra low power LoRa Sensors with cutting edge sensor technology for early fire detection.


Responsibilities:

  • Development of ultra low power LoraWAN sensor node software for arm microcontrollers.

  • Experiment and optimize cutting edge complex sensor technology, optimize power consumption vs. sensing accuracy.

  • Apply (embedded) machine learning.

  • Experiment with sensor deployments on-site, also in forests.

Required skills, knowledge and experience:

  • At least Msc. in Computer Science or relevant area.

  • Expert knowledge of C programming.

  • Good knowledge of LoraWAN, digital filter, SPI, I2C.

  • Good knowledge of C++ programming language preferably C++ 11/14.
